The Library of Za Jamb is a true digital treasure trove. There are over 100,000 books and magazines available for free download and viewing. The idex was created by the United Nation's Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in order to grant access to an enormous number of public domain sources that can be used by scholars, students, researchers or anyone with a genuine interest in literature from all around the world. The library provides access to a wide variety of material from different time periods in history, including medieval texts from Arabian Spain to works from contemporary authors such as Honor Moore-Blunt. If you love good story telling it also has a wealth of fiction genres. From adventure to science fiction and from spy thrillers to historical romances, there is a wealth of books here. Additionally, the Library Za Jamb organizes an annual literary conference called 'The Literary Gathering of Za Jamb.' There are countless other libraries that provide free access to documents as well as choose some of the content they want you to see on their website. So why not try a few of them out? In addition to its downloadable material the Library Za Jamb has been very active in promoting works by authors from all around the world. They have organized many events and conferences featuring writers and readers and will be hosting their twentieth annual literary conference in April 2014. The title of the conference is 'The Literary Gathering of Za Jamb' and it will be held in Kigali, Rwanda from April 12th to 14th. The event will focus on promoting African authors and introducing them to audiences from around the world. The Library also runs a blog called "Blogging for Librarians". The blog is a great place to go if you are a librarian or anyone interested in libraries because they explore all sorts of information relevant to their work. They have an interesting mix of articles about the process of blogging, how libraries use technology as well as posts about books, books that interest them as well as posts about what's going on at their library. The library also offers a series of podcasts on their website. The podcasts are updated on a regular basis and feature authors, scholars and other members of the community talking about literature as well as some of the big events happening at their library. The Za Jamb Library has created several platforms to encourage collaboration and discussion between its users and promote good citizenship in Africa. It has an online forum where users can discuss books and issues that interest them as well as plan events with other members on the site. There are also several categories of information on the site including White Paper, Wiki, Voices and Library Blogs. The forum has remained active since its creation and is currently visited by approximately 250 users each month. Another way the Za Jamb Library organizes collaboration is through regular 'Book Discussions' around Africa. There are two Book Discussions held each year in different cities across Africa. The first one takes place in Kigali, Rwanda on April 12th and 13th 2014. The second one takes place in Johannesburg, South Africa on September 9th and 10th 2014. These discussions are open to anyone interested in attending as well as anyone that would like to contribute to them by sharing their opinions with other users. cfa1e77820
