Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, also known as Bulleh Shah, is considered to be one of the great poets in Urdu who was born in 1607 AD during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir. He is one of the most popular saints in Pakistan and some other parts of South Asia where he holds a particular reverence. His poetry became accessible by recording down some poems by him which were later compiled into a book. When he first saw Baba Farid Ganj Shakar, he was leaning with his head on the wall of a small hut where Lal Shahbaz Qalandar was sitting. He was so taken by Baba Farid's extraordinary appearance that he stood up, kissed his feet and said that he has found what he has been seeking for. When asked what it is that he has been looking for, Lal Shahbaz Qalandar answered back by saying that he had been searching for 'BaBa'. Sultan Bilal was a Mughal governor of Multan. He was known for being the governor who protected Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar during his life and officiated his funeral. Sultan Bilal built the mausoleum in which Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar is buried and it has been around since 1621 (1009 lunar). The mausoleum has been rebuilt several times before, most recently in 1835-36 (1238 lunar). Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar had some very famous sayings.
